Cathy(she/her) is a Paediatric Nurse Practitioner living in Toronto with 40 years of experience working with children, youth, and their caregivers.
For the past 20 years her clinical practice has focused on adolescent health in the areas of chronic illness, substance misuse, sexual health, gender identity and minor mood disorders. She has provided gender affirming care to youth since 2013 and is passionate about improving access to care for marginalized folks and communities.Cathy was a lecturer for 12 years-teaching in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. She has retired from clinical practice and continues to work with community partners to provide education to parents, caregivers, educators and service providers on adolescent development, child and youth mental health, and gender identity development with a focus on how to support Two-Spirit, trans and non-binary youth.
